Reflection: We would not need a miracle to bail us out…if we used wisdom from the beginning

Often times when we are in a tight spot or faced with a new challenge, our options seemingly become limited. We are looking for a way out–yet believing there is a way out is hard to digest. As a result we resort to having the “want” to be in a changed place, but not the mind-set to ACTUALLY change. And regardless what denomination one belongs to, we have at one time or the other asked God for a miracle. Then the miracle does not come.

My eyes were widened with this small seed that was dropped in my ear: God only gives revelation when you can’t figure things out by wisdom. See, wisdom is two-fold: 1) GAINING knowledge, insight, discernment, discretion, and understanding coupled with 2) the ABILITY to apply such intuition to solve a current situation. God believes in our ability so much so that He knows that there are certain things He doesn’t need to step in and do…because we already have the power to do it! Wisdom is not defined by what one says, but by what one does. And it is ONLY in the midst of a catastrophe that one can determine if their prior decisions were built on wise thinking or on unsound formulas. (see Matthew 7:24-27).

You are so much wiser than you think. Don’t know where to start? The wisest man, Solomon, was asked by God what he wanted…cars…riches…houses. He asked for wisdom, and as a result God gave him wisdom AND everything else. The chief strategy to keep you from rising is ignorance. Don’t be tricked into thinking you are not something you already are, or that you cannot possess something you are already an heir to. If it is just the process that is holding you back, ask for wisdom, respect the process and go through it, and claim what’s yours. There is not much between your “right now” and excellence. Wisdom attracts excellence, and excellence attracts increase. (see 1 Kings 10:1-10; 1 Kings 3).

The power is already in you–USE IT!
