Democratic National Convention: Day 3 Redemption
The third day of the DNC was a dramatic increase in the message of not only unity, but the importance of NOT electing and rewarding another four years to the Bush Republican Administration. Living on the East Coast, I watched live as the now official Vice President nominee Joseph Biden delivered his heart, credentials and disgust of the vision of candidate McCain–a man who is to be respected as a hero, but not a “wise leader.” What I DID wish I saw live (I just got a TV after almost 4 years people…so God knows when I’ll get cable) was Former President Bill Clinton. I want to remind every one that I am NOT a Clinton-supporter (and have no problem saying that) BUT when I caught myself saying more than a couple “AMEN’s,” I began to wonder if he read my previous post about Hillary! It was awesome, it was on point, and it has nothing to do with whether HE believes it or not–but had everything to do with what NEEDED to be said by a leader and what needed to penetrate all citizens–Democratic, Republican, Independent, Green, or Undecided alike. As we were reminded of Hurricane Katrina (which is entering its 3rd Anniversary), Clinton effectively indirectly alerted people that this problem is much bigger than any one man. There is a mess that needs to be cleaned, and it’ll take time. But “Yes We Can” means nothing unless “WE VOTE.” Happy Viewing!
